Dumped 80 times since Valentines Day. This is not good news. Washing teeth,
plus an annual bath, change of clothes may help - do as I say, not as I do.

If you're getting blue screens then look for more info on it eg a filename
/ error codes etc. Also check Event Viewer for more clues.

Hi Jon..I went into Event Viewer but have no idea what I am looking at. Then
went into Folder Options and clicked on show all hidden files and unchecked
the ones they said too except for the files that Window uses for start up,
they advised against it. I have no malware on my computer and scans free.
There has to be another explanation. Some kind of combination that's doing
this. When I had XP and download IE7, I had a lot of trouble staying on the
internet with Messenger loaded in..Today I have exited Messenger and it
doesn't download, and I have been on line for over 3 hours without being
shut down. I guess I am not making much sense, but why just me!!!Donna V

Hi Mark..My computer is clean, have Ad Ware 2007. Why when something is
wrong, it's malware or virus. There's a combination here that's shutting me
down. Donna V

Hi Donna

It is possible to analyse dumps (someone's got to do it) to determine the
culprit driver or whatever, but to be honest it's a fairly technical
procedure, and if you find Event Viewer confusing, then it's likely to throw
you forever beyond the brink in terms of confusion levels.

Perhaps the best thing I can suggest is to have a look at the programs you
have installed at

Control Panel > type "programs" in the top right box > Add / Remove programs

and have a think about which programs you may have installed recently, or
which were installed around the time the problems started, and if you
suspect that any of them may be a possible culprit then you could try
uninstalling them to see if that makes a difference.

They may not necessarily be malware, but may simply be badly written or just
plain incompatible with Vista

Anyhow hope that helps

You need to contact whoever is responsible for supporting your system.
If you purchased from, for example, Dell, then you need to call Dell.

That's not to say I'm unwilling to assist you in your efforts to fix the
problem... but most new systems have, at minimum, 90 days of free
support. You paid for it... use it.

Thanks everybody but looks like I'll have to fumble around til I figure this
out. I have been on line with an HP tech and they solved what ever problem
that came up HP. AT&T did the same. Only things left came up Windows. Being
I have Vista and a 20 inch monitor now, none of the games I had bought for
my grandchildren when I had XPand only one game I downloaded on line because
it was Vista compatible. I go into three websites. Pogo, Slingo, and MSN
games. Had to upgrade Java and Shockwave when they came up and the other
downloads were when I was offline. My file of pictures I had put on a CD,
and a Hoyle Card came that I had put on a CD. Oh of course, my ISP set me a
CD that was upgraded to be used with Vista. They also helped me get on the
internet until I received the CD to download. But Windows shutting me down
started on 2/15/08 the day after I bought my HP. Thanks again
everybody..Donna V

AdWare 2007 is not a virus or trojan checker/defender.
Why when something
is wrong, it's malware or virus.

Well, it could be Voodoo, stray neutrinos streaming in the Solar Wind, or
bit-rot. When you hear hoof-beats, think malware, not Zebras.
There's a combination here that's

Right. It's probably a combination of malware and your computer.
