We are setting up new Win XP Pro machines at our office. We don't want most
people to have the ability to install software on the mchines, so they aren't
local admins.
However, we want WIndows Automatic updates to get installed on a regular
basis.
How can we accomplish this?

Thanks

Do you have an AD setup?
If so you could use group policies to set the option up for an OU so that
they either point to your SUS server (Software Update Services) or just
configure AU to go to the web and download/install updates.

If you don't have the AD setup you could still just set the option on the
computer. Just go to the control panel of the computer on the client machine
and the 3rd or 4th icon is the AU icon. Set up the option there for downloads
and installing of updates. Once thats setup you shouldn't have any trouble.

Let me know if you would like more information.
