Hi, my FP2K reports that my site is 4.2 meg (when I open the published site)
but I have a message from my hosting service that it is 5.3 meg and want to
charge me extra for hosting as I only have a 5meg plan. I have called them
and they say to contact Microsoft about the 'erroneous' reporting that FP
does. Well I don't think I would get much help from Microsoft so I tried
Cute FTP and it reported that the site was 6.7 meg. What is the story
here???

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Cheers

When FP reports the web site size,
it does not include the statistics and
extension files which are outside of
the root of the web.

These files however are included in your
"server" usage stats.

Thanks for that Steve, I suppose I will just have to contact my hosting
service and ask them if I can view statistics and extension files which are
outside the root of the web or at least know what they all add up to in
size-.

Actually after suspecting that I asked them I there were other files that
could be taking up space (FP extensions etc.) and they couldn't / wouldn't
tell me. I'm not very happy with them so I am looking for a host with multi
domain name hosting / reseller plans and will pull all my clients sites and
host them myself - much easier I think.

Anyone know of a good hosting service that will allow separate domain
hosting with control panels etc??? 40meg would be ok to start with (need
..NET hosting)

Cheers
