Getting "Alarm Reminder" feature to work on a new calendar

I created a new calendar folder and the Reminder alarm
does not work. It tells me that since I didn't add it to
my calendar or task the alarm will not work.

Is there a way to invoke the reminder feature when you
create a new calendar folder?

Ken Slovak has a pretty cool little add-in that enables you to
get reminders on items in any email, contacts, tasks or
calendar folder in your default mail store.
