Getting address book for email populated from Contacts List

Trying to help friend solve a problem - uses outlook 2003 with Vista home
premium.

Contacts list now has all the names and relevant data, but when look at
address book, this info is not there. Data in contacts lists was created by
importing data from excel spreadsheet. Address book only has one name
whereas contacts lisitng has about 100.

Any suggestions what to do to correct situation?
 
Right-click the Contacts folder, click Properties, go to the Outlook Address
Book tab and make sure "Show as E-mail Address Book" (or something like
that) is checked.

Then you need to install the Outlook Address Book service. Control Panel->Mail Icon->Directories and Accounts (from memory - forgive me if I omit something)->View or Change->Add. Add the Outlook Address Book service. Close Outlook and reopen it. Things should work now.
