I'm tired and weak. Basically have given up.
Is it possible to connect and xp home laptop to a router
and connect to a xp pro and a xp 2000 pro computer? I
can't. The XP home machine is set up exactly like the xp
pro machine and it doesn't work. It can't access any
other computer and no other computer can access it. They
all recognize each other exist in "My Network Place", but
that's it.
I've tried turning the guest account on and off on the xp
home machine.
I've tried 1,2,& 3 as seen below.
1. Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection
Firewall on local area network connections -- it's for
use only on a direct modem connection to the Internet.
Disable and un-install all other firewalls while
troubleshooting.
2. Use only one protocol for File and Printer Sharing.
If the network needs more than one protocol, unbind File
and Printer Sharing from all but one of them.
3. Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all
computers.
I've tried other things too except there's been so many I
no longer can remember what I've done.
Any help out there. I'm all ears.
