Hi,

I just joined my WIn XP desktop to a domain served by a
computer running Windows 2000 and logged in using a new
user account I created in Active Directory.

Unfortunately, in doing so, I've lost all access to all
the files in the My Documents folder, all bookmarks in
IE, my Outlook email account, etc.

Is there any thing I can do to "migrate" all that stuff
over to my new user account?

It's not lost, it's just that that is the local users profile and you are
now logging on as a domain user. Have a look under <Boot
partition>\Documents and Settings\ for your old user name, and copy the
files into your new user profile.

What you could do is logon as the administrator, right-click on my computer,
choose properties, advanced, and settings... under user profiles. Select
the profile computername\profilename and copy it to the
domainname\userprofile. Once you've done that change the permissions to the
domain user account.
