For no apparent reason, my daughter's Norton AntiVirus 2006, under
Win2000SP4, will not longer do a full system scan, in normal or in Safe
mode. It reports an error message:

The procedure entry point GetRawInputDeviceList could not be located in the
dynamic link library USER32.DLL.

I've replaced USER32.DLL from my computer, no change.

The Symantec web site comes up zero on its internal search.

A Google search turns up numerous entries, all seemingly associated with
games. Many in a foreign language.

Driving me nuts..... Thoughts of others?

Hey Terry,

Check these links for more information, it looks promising (although a
little wierd that DirectX is causing it). It seemed to work for these
people.

The DirectX is associated with games but with other things also. The
first link is a vmware (Virtual Machine) and the second link is just
another forum. I would try what is discussed in these forums
(reinstalling DirectX). They all seem to use DirectX 9b in these
forums, I would just use the most recent DirectX version (10, I
think).

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response, appreciated. I did visit these references,
and did replace Direct X. Unfortunately, the problem is still here,
Finally got a Symantec techie to get interested...

Terry
