is there another method
that will provide even more stock quote info (ie.
previous day's close price is not given by Yahoo)?

Usually u gotta pay for those types of services : (

I've run into some hints that both quicken and smartmoney
have a web quote service, but like Yahoo, I can't find
official documentation. For instance, I'm wondering if
there is an additional or alternative command that can be
thrown to the Yahoo server so that it sends the "previous
day's close price". This is a standard bit of stock
info, but without it, you can't calculate the price
variance.

CORRECTION: I can get the previous day's close by
subtracting the change from the last trade price, but
additional information would still be helpful.

Are you sure that's the right ng for asking this question?

Herfried,
Of course he has maybe heard that there is in this newsgroup somebody active
with a brain connector to his USB port.
Has on almost every question a link why not on this.

Maybe he should connect to my brain directly to get the current stock
quotes.
