I am using a single slide with a vertical page orientation in the middle of
another presentation in which the slides are in horizontal orientation. I
created a hyperlink to the vertically orientated slide that works fine.
However, when I click on the hyperlinked slide (which is in a second PPt
presentation), the next screen that flashes up is the "End of Show" page,
because of course, it is the end of the hyperlinked show. I have to click
again to return to the initial presentation. Is there a way to avoid having
the "End of Show" pane come up? The presentation would be smoother without
it.

You need to turn off "End with Black Slide". If you are running 2003 or
earlier, it is in Tools--> Options (but I don't remember the tab off the top
of my head). If you are running 2007, it is in Office button--> PowerPoint
Options, Advanced, Slide Show

Hi William

Just a side note on Kathy's advice: this is a machine setting, not a file
setting i.e. if you show the ppt on a different computer you will need to
check this 'feature' is turned off on that computer.

Thanks, Kathy and Lucy!!
