Get New Product Key?

I formatted my hard drive recently and stupidly didn't
look up my XP Product Key before doing so. I have searched
everywhere for the document containing it, but am unable
to find it, it's not on the disc satual, the XP booklet or
anywhere on my PC Tower. I can only assume that the guy
who put my PC together and installed all the initial
software didn't include it.
I was wondering if it is possible to purchase a new Key
from Microsoft and if so how do you go about it and how
much does it cost?
