Get IE back

To make long story short, my short Visual Basic pgm could not run assuming
due to my IE. It created error code "430" about Automation.

I went to MS download to update the IE. At the site, I was instructed to
unload the current version IE, first. So I did. The download was an update
IE 480 kbs. It had to be an additional to the original but now it was gone
from unistall. So I tried to reinstall IE component from my XP. It appeared
that it reinstalled, but the Windows Component still said IE at 0.0.

It is not clear why I can still make connections to any URL like Yahoo.
Perhaps it does not matter. But how do I reinstall IE successfully? IE is
still at 0.0 in Windows Component. Why?

Before the UNISTALL, my current IE version is
6.0.2800.1106..xpsp2.030422-1633
SP1;Q328970;Q324929;Q810847;Q813951;Q813489;Q330994;Q818529;

I just reinstalled IE browser with update from Windows Update and still
displays error code 430 about Automation. So please ignore this posting and
I am now at Windows XP newsgroup asking about reinstalling XP operating
system.

A bit more description may help here. One interpretation is that
you are in the Windows Components Wizard of Add/Remove Programs
and are seeing Internet Explorer checked with 0.0 MB beside it.
That just means that that "component", which only means whether
you have an IE icon in your Start menu or not, isn't very big!

I have no idea what to infer from the rest of your description.
The only way to reinstall IE6 in XP is given in MSKB 318378.

I suspect you are giving up too easily but without a better description
I don't think you are going to see much help.
