get "connect to website" dialog box when clicking on link to word

hello,
i have MSFP2002. i am having a problem when i have a link that points to a
MSWord document, the user gets the "connect to website..." dialog box (which
comes up normally when i am publishing the site)

does anyone know how to fix this?

I tried it in IE and FF, and do not have any problems. Maybe someone will
jump in here.

Nowhere in your original post(s) did you mention AOL. That could be an
issue.

Since nobody in their right minds uses AOHell <grin>, that could very well
be an issue.

Sorry, I can't help you with AOHell.
 
What version of Word is the user running on his/her computer? If it's Word
2000, is it fully patched with all Microsoft updates?

hi tom,
yes, i've heard that sentiment before. my customer uses aol; and i hate to
admit, so do i :0
 
This sounds like a bug in MsWord 2000 that was fixed in Office 2000 SP1.
Are you using Word 2000?
