Hello all!

Is there a way to get the version of access that a mdb file was created
with? We have a mdb file which became corrupt and can be fixed with a newer
version of Access but then the program that uses the mdb can not longer open
it.

I'm thinking that if we can get the version of Access that the database was
originally created with it may be able to repair the database and the
original program will work.

Thanks,
Joe

If you can't resolve the versioning dilemma, you can always export the
rescued data and then import it into a new mdb running the version of
Access that is compatible with your front-end application. And in the
future, make sure to have a good backup/restore strategy ;-)

So it looks like it's from Access 97. Where can I get a copy of Access 97?
The MSDN has Office 95 but not 97 for some reason.

Hello Joe,

This is totally an Access issue. Other than the ADO.NET newsgroup, I think
you will get a quicker and better reply in the Access Product newsgroup.

By the way, have you seen the following KB article about how to repair a
mdb file.
