Hi,
I am using the SmsGetPhoneNumber function in order to get the phone
number associated to a SIM card in a Pocket PC device.
According to msdn "This function queries for the available subscriber
numbers, and returns the first available entry with a service type of
VOICE." but it seems it never returns a consistent value : I have tried
several sim cards from different operators with no success (no value,
incorrect value ou specific format).
In my understanding, phone number is not supposed to be stored in a sim
card, IMSI being the unique subscriber identifier used by mobile
networks. So does someone know exactly what the behaviour of
SmsGetPhoneNumber is ? why does it sometimes work (according to some
posts in this group) and why it often does not ? And what does the Msdn
"Use this function to get the phone number of the device associated
with the SMS bearer." really mean ?
Thanks !
