Why do I still have MM vers 2.0.333? I have automatic updates turned on, and
when I go to the Microsoft web site and scan for updates, it says that I
don't need any. Thanks!

Movie Maker 2.1 is a component of
WinXP SP2. If you are running WinXP
SP2...have a look at the following articles:

What can I do if I upgrade to Windows
XP SP2 and Windows Movie Maker 2.1
is not installed successfully?

If you would like to install/reinstall SP2
you can download it from the following link:

Download Windows XP SP2

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.

It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.

And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.

I have downloaded SP2 and now I do have Movie Maker 2.1, however, windows
will only start in safe mode! Any ideas? I did reinstall SP2, but no luck!
Thanks.

Sorry...I haven't seen this reported before.
Apparently you have some serious system
issues.

Try doing a System Restore to a time
before you installed SP2.
