It seems that there is also a free english version :

We often have feedback from AVG, AntiVir or Avast users : anyone
using BitDefender and having found some good/bad points ?
I've never tried out the Windows version, but you might be
interested in this recent detection test (professional versions):

As you can see, it scored higher than AntiVir and Avast.

BitDefender looks indeed better than Antivir and Avast, especially
in trojan detection. The dialer detection looks a little weak
though.
I wonder :
- what the differences are between free and pro versions of Antivir,
BitDefender and Avast
- why AVG (either free (v6) or pro (v7)) has not been tested.

I think Kaspersky is very good with archives too.The full version 6.5 was recommended by the German C'T magazine last year.
I use it and it always tells me my PC is clean, except for the EICAR test
virus that I leave on my HD for reference.
One feature that I like is that BitDefender can scan any type of archive.
Zip, rar, ace, imp, the works. AFAIK it's the only AV scanner that does
that.
