My computer was damaged and sent to Gateway to be repaired. When I got it
back it seemed fine but every month it denies me access to it and says that
my version of Windows is not Genuine, though it came with my computer. I've
had to completely restart my computer six times now and it is very irritating!

If Vista was installed as an OEM product, there should be a label somewhere
on the computer, or in some piece of documentation that you got, that has a
16 digit number (actually, letters and numbers) on it. The next time you
get the "not Genuine" message you can call MS, give them the number you
found and you should then be "Genuine". Looks like Gateway didn't do that
step for you. If you can't get the number this way...then call Gateway.
