Generic Host Process for win32 services

I am having a problem with XP when I am on line. A
message appears with Generic Host Process for win32
services, within a couple of minutes the connection to
the web is closed, if I go to re connect the modem is
unable to establish a connection and the status Bar for
the modem can not be opened.

If anyone has any info I would be gratefull.
