Suddenly, I keep getting " Generic Host Process for Win32 Service" error
msg when I start WinXP(SP1) and I have to close the box, besides this, no
other problem. I have Norton Internet Security 2007 installed , the related
virus must have been blocked and left this trace. How can I remove this
error msg? I can't find it in the Registry. Thanks.

I was solved similar problem by updating netapi32.dll file which has a
bug in SP2 maybe also for SP1 for dial-up and some of external modem
connections.

This link was working before, don't know the new location.

Thanks. Downloaded the patch and installed but the problem still there.

Anymore suggestion please?
