Hi,

I have XP Pro which I have just installed in a new box and am now adding
programs to it. This morning I booted up and this message came on.

Generic Host Process for Win32 encountered a problem and needed to
close. szAppName: svchost.exe

What would cause this and could it lead to bigger problems?

Thanks

rock

If you specifically Google on this error, you will find a HOST of possible
causes, and some possible ideas to try, as svchost is so very generic.
There is no one cause for this.

Thanks

Generic Host Process for Win32 is always encountering problems.
Unfortunately it does rather a lot and something often goes wrong.

I generally ignore it unless something has specifically stopped working that
I require, in which case a reboot is usually required.
