We are receiving this problem on a small handful of new Dell Latitude D630
computers. They work perfectly fine when they are hooked into our network
and can log into the domain. However when they take their laptops to an
outside Internet source, the error Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
has encountered a problem and needs to close error appears. Shortly
thereafter SVChost.exe dies and Explorer grinds to a halt. If you keep the
laptop off the Internet, the computer works fine. The error reports contains
the following information.
Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.1.2600.5512, faulting module
sens.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x00006527.
The Error signature contains the following information:
szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.5512 szModName : sens.dll
szModVer : 5.1.2600.5512 offset : 00006527
We have scanned the laptops with Ad-Aware, McAfee Viruscan, and Windows
Defender and that has come up with nothing. We can't seem to find a the
common thread between these laptops. Any help with this would be great.
