I run X.P.pro Windows,with SP2 and anti virus
Each morning on start up I get the message-
Generic Host process for Win 32 encountered a problem and
needed to close This error occured at (usually at shut down time the day
prior)
please tell M.S. about this problem.
This malfunction does not seem to affect any functions,so I am
left wondering if I should be concerned.
Thanks.

Try this;

1. From the Window Desktop, click Start, and then click Control panel.
The control panel will open.

2. Double click the Administrative Tools icon. The administrative Tools
window will open.

3. Double click the Service icon. The Service window will open.

4. Double click the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) icon. The Windows
Image Acquisition (WIA) Properties (Local Machine) windows will open.

5. On the General tab, click the drop down arrow in the Start up Type
box and select Disabled.

6. Click Stop. A window will open with a message stating the service is
being found. When the message closes, verify the ServiceStatus displays
Stopped. Repeat this step if necessary.

7. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Thanks Touchbase,
Can confirm that the Service Status box now displays "stopped" Will let you
know results after a few Boot ups
What is "generic Host"Please.
Thank You
Hugh.

Hello TouchBase,
I'm afraid that I'm still getting the same message on boot up as before.
Regards, Hugh.
