I have read, perhaps truly or perhaps falsely, that it is possible to
setup a generic 'Documents and settings' (user profile) in Win2k / XP
and apply it in such a way that regardless of who logs in, or whether
they login to the local system or a domain, the same Desktop, My
Documents, Favorites, Screen settings, etc. will always apply.
Is this at all possible?
I have several clients who have domains but the users share everything
and they really don't want the desktops to change.
In addition, whenever I transition someone over to a domain from
another environment, all the users' environments change and I have to
spend a lot of extra time getting their desktops etc. back to the way
they were. It's a real pain, and I'd like to avoid it.
