I am starting databases for my product line and my customer orders. I would
like to be able to access the products database when customers order, from
the orders database. So to make my choices simpler. Can this be done, if so,
how would I link the databases. I would also like the products database to
be accessable on my website, for customer searches. Does anyone have an
thoughts on how best to go about this, using Access forms.
Thanks
Stephen

G'Day Stephen,

I believe you need a Book released with Access 97 called:
"Building Applications with Microsoft Access 97".
The reason I suggest this, is that it explores FULLY
the Northwind and Orders Sample databases. It
provides guidance on Forms Design, Drop-downs,
Lists etc together with some very valuable VBA Code
Fragments (the complete code can be found in the
samples).

In case you were not aware, the Orders Database
uses data entry Forms to provide an Order Entry Front
End into the Northwind database. These two will give
you heaps of database design ideas.

My reason for suggesting the Book, is that an HTML copy
of it can be found on the Office 97 Pro CD - it can
be dragged to your HDD as required.

If you can find a copy of the CD, you will find it (from
memory) under Extras\Access. Should you not be able to
locate a copy, I would be pleased to e-mail it (5Mb Zip or
multiple smaller Zips as needed) - please let me know.
