About a month or so ago I went to Windows Update to see
if there were any updates necessary to download to my
computer. A Critical Service Pack showed and it said
that it contained the patch needed for that nasty worm
virus that went around. So I thought it would be a good
thing to have. I downloaded it which took about 3
hours. After some time with it I noticed a performance
change for the worse in my computer so I decided to
uninstall it. When I did that a warning box came saying
that it may effect my Internet Explorer, but I ignored
that and continued. Now since then, strange things have
been happening, such as I have a program to make CD
Labels and in that program you can download images from
their site. Before that service pack I had no problem
doing so, but since I uninstalled it I cannot download
images anymore. I tried contacting the company that owns
the program and they suggested that IE settings might
need to be changed such as accepting cookies, active X
controls, etc. I checked all that and they seem to be
ok. That is just one example of things acting
differently. Is there a way to uninstall IE and then re-
install it so maybe that would correct the problem?
Maybe I ruined my version when I did that service pack.
I apologize for the length of this message, but I am very
frustrated. Thanks.

Did you try to repair IE?
Add/Remove programs/MS/IE repair.

Do you get any error message when you try to download images?

I will try your suggestion. In answer to your question,
no, I do not get any error messages when I try to

I will let you know how I made out.

Thanks, Annette

I tried your suggestion to do the repair. I am a little
confused, when I went to Add/Remove Programs I couldn't
find anything named MS/IE repair. Can you be a little
more specific with instructions on what to do? I am not
that good with this stuff. Thanks

Annette
