The board layout on the quick installation guide shows a "Fan
Connector", but it's use is not mentioned.
What's it for ??
TIA

My guess is , a fan. Does it have a fan on it already?
Some of the low end boards dont have fans. Some makers design it so
its supposed to be adequately cooled with a heatsink.

Looked to me like it was just a heatsink. I'm thinking maybe it's a
power connector to run a CPU fan maybe?????

Yes, many card manufacturers use the nVidia reference PCB
designs, which include such features even if a manufacture
doesn't make use of them. Likewise on cheaper cards you may find
spots where they manufacturer decided to save a few dimes by
leaving some capacitors off the board, or a spot where a TV
encoder could've been.
