Maggie

I recently upgraded to xp and my graphics card stopped
working. I have a geforce and sis730s chipset. On
previous OS's they all worked fine but I had to remove my
graphics card and use the on-board graphics instead for
xp.

I was wondering if anyone knew what my problem is? I have
checked all websites for info but can't find anything. I
currently have my geforce sitting in a box on my desk!
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

I did, they were fine until I added the drivers, then the
screen would just go. My monitor would power down and no
matter how many times I rebooted it would just remain
that way.

I will try that. Thanks for all your help Frank.

Try going into safe mode with the video card installed. Go into device
manager and roll back your driver and then reboot and see if that works.

.

When you say "on-board" do you mean that the video card
is intergrated onto the motherboard? If so, you must
disabled the "on-board" video via jumpers! Contact your
computer manufacturer for details.>-----Original Message--

maggie.
i have found a similar prblem after upgrading a customers
pc from 98 to xp.
now the geforce card powers down apparenly at random.
i have tried drivers and biose setings,no luck.
when i find an answer il post it.

maggie i solved this problem only after uptating the
motherboard bios. in this case the motherboard was a
matsonic MS8308EP witch uses the SIS730s chipset and the
graphics card was a geforce MX 420.CAUTION!!!! if you try
a bios update and it fails it could leave your pc in an
unusable state!!
