I have a question about video cards. From my previous post you have
probably seen that i am building a new pc but cant deccide on the
video card.

I can not pay over $200 for the card, but with prices set aside please
let me know about todays GeForce cards market. I am looking at 8600GT
card series, parameters are GT vs GTS as well as 256 vs 512 MB of
ram.

GT with 256MB -$110
GT with 512MB -$150
GTS with 256MB -$150

The card will be in PC with 2GB, (1GB x 2) PC28500 1066MHZ RAM and
e6420 cpu

also how would these cards stack up against last generation hifg end
cands within 100-150 $ range?

Thanks ahead

I'd cut back the money on the memory, and try to get as much video card
as I could with the fixed budget.

Comparing to previous generations is hard, when the benchmarking sites
aren't interested in doing that.

There are some tables here, but these aren't benchmarks.

The news section here, mentions up and coming cards. Don't expect the
price on the old stock to change, because the things these cards replace,
are still in demand.
