Anyone have the problem after installing Windows Vista, which your graphics
card onboard cooling fan continually runs?
And the I can’t find/access the old NVIDIA settings to see if my graphics
card is still over clocked after the Vista beta upgrade.

Yes, mine seems to run a lot more than in XP. Someone here told me that
Vista off loads some of the CPU functions onto the video processor, so the
extra work which makes it run a little warmer. It seems like RC2 is a
little better than earlier versions, but I am still using the Vista drivers
for the card and not the Nvidia ones.

Forget the Nvidia advanced features. I was told by Nvidia that they are not
going to waste their time developing drivers, or software, for Vista, until
it's released for sale to the public. RTM. Even then they say it will take a
month. I wasted my money on a company with this attitude, and now I'm
switching back to ATI, as they are working hand in hand with Microsoft, on
Vista, to provide up to the date drivers and software, to access all advanced
features of your graphics experiance. ATI has had numerous updates to their
drives for the Vista experiance. Nvidia has had one for RC1 and that was six
weeks + ago. Nvidia doesn't care anymore. Don't ask me why. TTFN .

What's that saying about "Out of the Frying Pan into the Fire!"

My 6800 works well in RC2 as it did in RC1. I did have to use a Nvidia
driver in Beta 2 for my games to work, but the current Vista one seems to
work OK. I don't try anything other than basic video and gaming. Microsoft
has been releasing new Builds, it seems like once a month or sooner, for the
last several months. It is probably really hard for a company to keep up
with that. But, whatever works best for you.

Here is my fix. I'm using the 100.65 WHQL 32 driver btw. I have a 7600 GT

Note: Ntune is not a good workaround. 1. It is meant for Nvidia
motherboards. 2. The fan only remains quiet for a given session, a reboot or
putting the system to sleep and re-awakening returns the fan to full speed.
3. Ntune is buggy with Vista.

Open Power Options/Settings and select Power saver as the plan.
Click on Change plan settings for the Power saver.
In the next window select Change advanced power settings
In the Power Options Advance settings scroll down and expand Processor power
management. For both Minimum processor state and Maximum processor state set
both to 100%. Click ok Save changes. Note: It may take a minute or 2 for the
graphics card fan to go off after performing these steps.

This is working flawlessly for me so far. Hope this helps everyone else and
spread the word if it does! I know a lot of people are annoyed by this bug
until a real fix comes from Nvidia.
