Looks like this card is a direct contender with the ATI X800XT PE.

I personally think this is a awsome card, except that it is very expensive at $600 (312 pounds) but for any "Extreme" Power user this card it will be worth it.

Better off waiting for the next gen cards now. Im waiting for 512mb cards to be priced at least £250. That will be my next card upgrade

About half a year. ATI have one already made, but its a "developer" model or somthing like that...

As for Nvidia, they also have on made but is not yet ready for sell either. I would say, definately within half a year. Mind you, they will be the Ultra's and X850 cards, so...i would'nt expect a reasonable priced card with 512mb of memory.

But then again, they might release the 512mb for the top cards, and over a small amount of time, start bringing out the GT's with 512mb on.

If you don't play games (cough cough) then you'll only need 8mb card.

A little known fact is that AGP video cards have the added ability to be able to also use the main system memory as part of the overall memory pool, so the video card's own memory is no longer the cut-and-dry limitation it once was.

A non-games player will only ever need a 64mb card. Less likelyhood it will use system memory.
