Re: MS04-028 GDI Detection Tool
I have gone through Windows/Office Update, manually
installed all the updates (I mean ALL of them), checked
the actual binaries of all affected files and they all
tell me I'm OK. However, everytime I run the GDI
Detection Tool it tells me I still have something
vulnerable. This tool then goes to an "end-user" web page
that tells me to do everything I just did and gives no
DETAILS of what I'm missing.
How can I protect myself from this vulnerability when the
tool tells me nothing of what is vulnerable and I've done
all the steps recommended?

Hi

The tool is not reliable. I have also an fully updated computer
(nothing else than the OS and the .NET Framework installed, and
the tool still says the computer may be vulnerable.

As you have noted, the tool uses the word "may", so if you installed
all relevant updates from
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS04-028.mspx
I would not think more about it.
