C:/Program Files/ Microsoft
Antispyware/gcThreatAuditSettingsData.gcd sets my CA
eTrust scan as "CWS" spyware and requires a reboot to
clear. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I scanned my computer with PestPatrol (which
nowadays belongs to CA) the program identified this file
as CWS pest, and suggested to remove it, which I did.
But few days later PestPatrol found it again (presumably
it was reinstalled by MSAS automatic update).
Is it one of PestPatrol false positives, or
indeed a pest within MSAS ?

in my computer

I think this is a false positive. This file is an internal file belonging
to Microsoft Antispyware. The format is proprietary, and I'm quite certain
that the file is carefully checked for integrity each time it is used--so I
don't believe it is infected, or somehow trojanned.
