XP Pro SP2 w/ latest updates running MS AntiSpyware
v1.0.615. Changed IE v6 home page from MSN to Google
yesterday. Upon start up this morning an AntiSpyware
popup asked if I wanted to allow this change in home
page. I hit "Allow" and for the past hour Task Manager
indicates that gcasServAlert.exe is chewing through 97 to
99% of CPU resources. Fixes, fixes anyone??

I ran into this problem as well...

Only ... it never stopped popping up that this was
attempting to alter my Internet Explorer Security
Settings ... Allow or Block.

I kept selecting Block and chose to remember this reply --
to no avail.

I finally entered Task Manager, went to processes, and
killed this process tree.

After I killed the process tree (subject line executable),
it finally quit prompting me that it was trying to alter
security settings...

Sage words of wisdom are both solicited and greatly
appreciated!
