It uses the MSAS logo, but Windows Startup Inspector says it is malware and
has nothing to do with MSAS, and should be removed.

I unchecked its box in WSI, and it hasn't come back. MSAS seems to work fine
w/o it.

*Is* gcasServ malware?

WinPatrol says: "Files called gcasserv.exe and
gcasdtserv.exe install as part of Giant/Microsoft
AntiSpyware Service originally developed by Giant Company
Software now owned by Microsoft." It is "Safe".
WinPatrol indicates these are NOT malware.

If you look at the c:\program files\microsoft antispyware
folder you will see that gcasServ is in that folder.

Likely the people behind Windows Startup Inspector didn't
even take the time to see what diles are installed when
MSAS is iunstalled on a system. If they had taken the
time they would have realized that the program IS from MS.

Thank you, John. So much for using WSI as a spyware detector. (It's good at
showing what loads during startup. I'll settle for that.)
