Can anyone tell me what GcasServ.exe function is in MSAS?
It appears to have a bug in that every 2-3 seconds on my computer it uses
100% of the CPU for about 5 seconds.
It does have a minor effect on other programs that are running in that the
stall or slow down for 1 or 2 seconds. (mostly games or when I'm editing an
image file in programs like Photoshop Elements, Paintshop pro, etc....)
I have tried stopping it in XP's task manager, and MSAS still runs as normal
and I no longer have the delays in other programs...
Googling for info on it just comes up with info that it's part of Giant
Anti-spyware/MSAS and it's up to the user to decide if they/I want to run
it.
SystemInternals Process Explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com/) doesn't tell
me much about what it's doing..
If it's not needed how can I stop it from starting?
Maybe I'll try renaming GcasServ.exe and see what happens when MSAS
starts...
