I just wasted too much time trying to sign up for a free pop account at
gawab.com. Each time, I get a script popup saying "Action failed". Then the
signup page appears agin, which invites by its nature ou to try again.

You get what you pay for, it is a free service. But if their signup
procedure is broken for the time being, they should have the decency to
disable it - rather than inviting people to waste their time on their crap
website.

With this kind of behavior on their part, it's obvious that gawab.com
should never be trusted for any serious purpose.

I agree. I did manage to open an account, but they closed it a few
days later due to 'inactivity', although I used it every day. Try
hotpop.com - it's pretty good - free forwarding, POP3 and SMTP
access, and they seem to get rid of most of the spam and viruses for
you, although they don't brag about it.

It seems that the Basic program is the only one that's free. That's because
you will suffer the ads, the spam and only a limited amount of mail to send.
The rest the programs are not Freeware...

I have been using the basic service at HotPOP.com for usenet postings
for more than a month now. In all that time I have seen no ads, and
only 5 spams.

I'm happy with myway.com
Free Email, no ads or banners.
All functions work *grin* including signup.
