Hi all,
I have the intention to put a smaller version of my former pages 'Links
to Freeware' back online again. In this version the links to free fonts
and free graphics, and the essential page will be gone. Only freeware
sites that contain two or more freeware applications, and sites
containing more links to freeware sites will be on my pages.

For almost three months I haven't paid much attention to this group,
and so I have missed (a lot of) valuable links to new freeware sites.
Is there a way, other than reading all the messages of the past three
months, to gather all url's from the messages in this group, in order
to add the best url's to my pages? (I sure hope so, because I'm not
looking forward to read ALL -more than 3000!- messages :-))

Like to hear from you....

With kind regards,

You might start here:

http://ger.ar.com/

Navigate to alt.comp.freeware, and it gives all links referenced in posts
....I think it's by month, but it could be longer.

For some reason, I can't get the direct link to work, but I'll post it
anyway:

Hi Henk, I lost the URL for your home page.
Can you please send it here or in private mail.

Thanks

Hi Henk,

Now there's some good news! Looking forware to the new pages. :)

If you have the ACF posts saved as text files you might like Jetlinks
(bookmark utility) for URL extraction. Jetlinks does not allow duplicate
bookmarks which should be an advantage for what you want to do. It does
have a couple of minor glitches - IIRC bookmarks with name tags (#) and
bookmarks with blank spaces don't get imported properly from text/HTML
files. . .

pretty easy to use . . .

JetLinks 1.2 complete installation

Version 1.2.0.5 of JetLinks. Includes english and
german program languages

Hi Jan,
I'm still busy updating the freeware links. As soon as I'm ready with
this, I'll upload the pages and mention the url in here.

Hi Susan,
First of all, I think you have done a really great job on the PL this
year. Many, many thanks for that!!

About the links in ACF: Jason gave me already a link to the Green Eggs
Report. That will keep me busy for a while..:)

With kind regards,

Save all the messages as a single unix/text file and "grep" all urls.
Or use a program made to do that. Your only problem will probably be
where a url has wrapped to the next line.

Regards, John.

If no easy method is offered just begin gathering now. It's nice to
see you back.

Hi John,
Thanks for your suggestion, but I received an URL from Jason to the
Green Eggs Report. That will keep me busy for a while.
