Gateway issue with LAN and PPP

Hello to All,

On my W2K server I have LAN card with follwing settings:
192.168.24.10
255.255.255.0
192.168.24.10 as Gateway.

Also,I have a Modem card on this system, which gets
following settings after establishing dialup connection
with another W2K server.

192.168.24.31
255.255.255.0
192.168.24.32 (as Gateway)

After getting through the dialup connection, the LAN
card's Gateway goes blank (ipconfig command). So I am
unable to ping to destinations that are configured
through the above gateway?

Any clues?
 
Hi,

I think you have to remove the flag 'Use default gateway on the remote',
from yours Dialup Connection, of TCP/IP properties, on advanced, general
tab.

The gateway setting on the NIC should be blank. The default gateway of
this machine should be out to the Internet through the modem connection, not
to the LAN NIC.
