Hi All,

I'm in quite a jam.. I have a Gateway GT4016 with Windows XP Media
Center Edition 2005 installed and it had been acting kind of weird for
a few days, but now I have nothing when I start it.. Actually I
shouldn't say "Nothing"..

I first get the Gateway name and at the bottom right of the screen the
2 promts of <Boot Settings>'F10' or BIOS Settings 'F2'... Then it goes
to a screen that says detecting boot array.. I also had another
message that said reinstall <windows root> system32\hal.dll file..

I have no idea what's going on or how to get back up and running.. I
do not have the original xp cd, although a friend gave me an xp cd
from her dell laptop.. I doubt that will help..

At this point I don't really care about my files, I just need to get
back up and running, I can reinstall my programs that I do have the
cd's for.. I tried tapping the F8 key, but I cannot get past that
black and white F10 & F2 promts screen...

Thanks in advance for any and all help..

sally~
