geidiprime <--> switch <--> caladan
The connection is with RJ45 Cat 5e cable.
Arrakis connects to the internet with an Asus WL-330g.
internet <--> cable modem <--> SMC7004VWBR router
<--> WL-330g <--> arrakis
Again, the connections are with RJ45 cat 5e cable, with the exception
of
the connection between the router and the Asus WL-330g. The WL-330g, a
wireless ethernet adapter (NIC), connects to the 802.11b router
wirelessly.
The aim is to get all three computers connected to the internet![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/custom/smilies/smile.gif)
To this end, geidiprime has been selected as the gateway for arrakis
and
caladan. The WL-330g needs to be connected to geidiprime, either NIC.
However, I at this stage I just want to get geidiprime, alone, on the
internet via the WL-330g. Previous attempts have failed (see a
different thread).
Before caldan's hard drive "died" I used to periodically connect the
WL-330g to caladan. I'm not sure what I'm doing why I can't get
geidiprime to connect to the internet. (I'm reading up on ICS, but
don't want to enable that yet.)
I'm not sure how to proceed![Frown :( :(](/styles/default/custom/smilies/frown.gif)
