We reported in the news yesterday that Google were looking to unseat eBay from it's top spot as an internet auction site. It now looks like Bill Gates of Microsoft intends to do the same to Google - concerning web-based searches. Gates recognises Google as a significant rival to Microsoft, but revealed that they have plans to reduce Google's dominance, which will take effect in the next six months.
Gates' ultimate aim is to beat Google through the use of better search technology. In a recent interview with the BBC, Bill Gates said he saw "Microsoft's strengths lying in search".
