Hi,

I am editing a Word 2000 document that has been used by
multiple people. There is one paragraph (for lack of a
better description) where the text is unreadable.
Highlighting the text, I get 1/2 and 1/4 sized lines.

Deleting the text in the section only moves the text
below into this section and it becomes garbled. Deleting
the "paragraph" also does no good. I am able to read what
is in the section by changing the font size to 48. I
then copied it out into a new section but it then creates
a new section with a new section number that is out of
synch with the Table of Contents...

This is 5MB file with lots of special formatting, I have
tried copy and pasting all the sections other than this
one but the new document is very screwy and not all the
formatting copies over...

We have no idea how this transpired or what this is and
are at a loss. I've done a brief search on Google but
found nothing very relevant. I came in at the end of
this document so don't know if this section was copied
from another document or what. However I am sure I can
find out anything you may need to know to help sole
this. Sorry this is longwinded, thanks. Anyway I just
need to get rid of the freakin thing. :-)

Dale,
It may be something as simple as the line spacing being set to a small point
size using the "Exactly" setting in the Indents and Spacing tab of the
Paragraph dialog box (Format|Paragraph|Idents and Line Spacing |Exactly
(under Line Spacing), etc. Place the insertion point anywhere within the
paragraph and set the Line Spacing to anything other than Exactly.
