Hi All,

Quick Q regarding IP gaming.

How does one connect ICS clients (with Internal addressing 192.168.....) to
other PC's over the internet for gaming purposes ?

Obviously to 'host' a game, the ICS client must be addressable from outside
the
home network and this is where I require assistance....

Thanks.

You need port forwarding installing on the ICS server pc. It is possible to
configure ICS to do this but I could never get it to work properly. Go to
the following site and download port mapper, it's very simple to use and
sits in the system tray while it's running.
When it's installed, you need to find out the ports that the game listens on
and configure portmapper so it forwards traffic from these ports to the LAN
pc IP address.

Hi Neil,

Thanks for your posting. Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) is used to enable the internal computers to
access the internet using a single Internet connection. Security is enhanced when ICS is enabled because
only the ICS host computer is visible to the Internet. We don't support to access the internal client from
outside the home network since only the computer running ICS (ICS host) is seen from the public side.

You may want to host the game on the ICS host for the purpose of gaming.

Sincerely,
