Hi
I have just got rid of my P4 3 Ghz system, 2 gb RAM, 8800GTS 320 and have been offered a system for 200 quid: Athlon 64 dual core, vista 64 bit, MSI K9 Platinum mobo, 4 gb ram, 2 x ATI x1950pro crossfire, 320 gb. Seems like a half decent system but don't know whether it is a bit old for gaming now? what do you think?
Cheers

Whats the cpu ??

Not a bad rig. The 1950's are a bit dated but should still let you play quite a lot of newish games. You could always sell them and get a better card. Depends what the cpu is.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. CPU is 2 x 3.2 Athlon 64. I was wondering how it would get on with the newer games- FEAR 2, Crysis etc

Thanks

It's worth the money.

It will handle newer games but very likely only at medium res, particularly Crysis.

You can also get 3D Mark 06, and Since you running Vista you can run 3D Mark Vantage too.

3D Mark 06: Link

3D Mark Vantage: Link

Beware though - that Vantage is a tough benchmark.

post your 3D Mark 06 score if you run it!
