Gaming Laptop Recommendations Please?

I am starting to have problems with my 11-year-old laptop and have decided to get a new one - possibly a gaming laptop.

Any recommendations better than what I have now would be welcome - around £1K+ (cheaper would be best)

17" Laptop Windows 10
THX Tru Studio Pro
Clevo W270ESQ Motherboard
Intel Dual Core I7 2640M 2.8GHz
Onboard Intel 2000 series graphics
NVIDIA Optimus
NVIDIA GT630M Graphics - Better Graphics Card
2x DDR3 PC-10600 4GB SODIMM
2.5” 500GB SATA Hard Drive - BETTER and bigger HD would be nice
SATA DVDRW

What sort of thing would you use the laptop for, and is portability an important requirement? Is a 17" screen size important?

I would say getting a laptop with an NVME/SSD is essential, as it'll be so much faster (and power efficient) to do so.
