Hi all, I just got a new software program (Kidpix Deluxe 3) and installed and
ran it once fine. After I stopped using it, no other programs on my computer
would work - internet explorer wouldn't even load. So I restarted the
computer and everything worked fine. BUT, the next time I tried to run
kidpix, when I clicked the icon (on desktop OR on start menu) nothing
happened. The hourglass thingy appeared next to the cursor for a second then
disappeared but the program never started. At this point no other programs
would open either. So I restarted the computer and kidpix worked fine, but
again, agter using it nothing else works. This happens every time - I must
restart before and after using the new program every time in order for
anything to work. Any sugggestions? (I'm running XP home edition and all
driers are up to date.) Thanks.

Hi,

Sounds like the original installation didn't complete properly.
Let's try a couple of things to get that working for you again:

1. Startup your system in SAFE MODE by pressing F8 repeatedly
while your system is booting up after you've shut down your system

2. Log in with an account you've created as a "Computer Administrator"
account that you'll use to play the game, but don't use a Limited account.

3. Uninstall the game, repeat steps 1 and 2 and then reinstall the game.

Thanks, I'll try this, but first, do I keep the computer in safe mode after
reinstalling the game?

Hi,

After you've reinstalled the game, you can restart your computer normally again.

Hi,

What didn't work:
Did the reinstallation fail, or did reinstalling fail to fix the original problem?
