Hi thomasbayer,

You might want to post to the microsoft.public.windowsxp.games newsgroup

It would also be helpful if you included in your post the name of the newly
installed game and your system specs.

Well, having a look at the Minimum system requirements in the BUY THE GAME
section at http://www.mortyr2.net/
the game requires at least a 3D accelerated graphics card of GeForce 2
class. Your onboard video (Intel82865 Graphic Controller) doesn't meet the
requirements, and that's probably why you're receiving the "not initialized"
error.
I was unable to find the exact motherboard model you mentioned at Biostar's
site (I868G-M7), but the closest I could find was the I865G-M7
http://www.biostar.com.tw/products/mainboard/board.php?name=I865G-M7
If your motherboard has the same expansion slots as the in the link above,
you have an AGP (4x/8x) slot. You will need to purchase an AGP4x or AGP8x
video card and install it (along with its most recent drivers) in order to
play not only this game, but other games that require a video card as
opposed to onboard video.

You're welcome for the help :-)
Why you're able to play TR7 The Legend with the onboard video and are not
able to play Mortyr2, I do not know. Perhaps there is a game patch available
for Mortyr2 that will overcome that error message that you're receiving.
Maybe it's just me, but Mortyr2 seems to be lacking in the FAQ/Tech Support
department, so I am unable to find if others have experienced similar
problems and if those problems have been rectified. I was hazarding a guess
re: video card due to the minimum system specs that I found for Mortyr2.
What I DO know is that I would never recommend onboard video to people who
enjoy playing games, especially 3D intensive games.

I hope that you are able to find a solution to that error message.

Hi Thomas
As Patti advised in her first reply you should post your question to
microsoft.public.windowsxp.games newsgroup.
There are some games specialists there who would be happy to help.

Bill
