gaining administrator rights on XP

I need to have adminastrator privelages to install my
kodak digital camera software. How do I become the
administrator?
 
actually you should be admin every time you open computer
if it is stand-alone single-user.

start
-control panel
--user accounts
---pick administrator item
make desired changes
----done--------------------------
 
Hi,

Logon as administrator (if it doesn't show on the welcome sceen, hit
ctrl+alt+delete twice and enter it manually), then go to the users applet in
the control panel and change your normal user account to admin.

How do I get rid of that screen? I "inherited" this one and
the last person's name is everywhere. Is there one place I
can go to and erase all instances of that name?

Hi,

You will not be able to erase that name, though you can delete the old
account and change the ownership. Some programs installed under that name
will always remain so. Only way around is to start clean.
