Gadgets Don't Connect

My weather and baseball score gadgets say, not connected. I am using WiFi at
the house. I am able to surf the internet just fine, so I'm assuming that I
have a connection.

Also when trying to find a solution to this problem, when I went through the
windows help and support, connect online, it would show no connection. But
again I am able to get to the internet through my browser.

I am using mozilla.

Using a third party firewall? It may be blocking them.

Not sure, how would I be able to tell?

My system/setup is fairly new. About a month old. I did add the Avast!
anti-virus, but it was working after I added it, a couple of weeks ago.

The weather worked fine up until a few days ago. I just added the baseball
score thingy and it has not worked.
